JoyRemote
JoyRemote Teams

One list of people for every company computer.

A company enrols its computers once and decides, in one place, who may reach them. $24 per computer per year. Everybody in the company who needs to connect is included.

$24 per computer, per year, billed yearly
  • Minimum 5 computers
  • 20% off from 50 computers, 30% off from 200
  • Unlimited people: owners, admins and viewers cost nothing extra
  • Billed through Paddle, the merchant of record, who handle VAT and issue the invoice
2 hours of relay per enrolled computer, per year
  • Pooled across the company: 10 computers give the company 20 hours to share
  • More relay at $5 per 5 hours, as for everyone
  • Only used when a network will not let two computers talk directly. Most connections never need it
Free on the company's own network
  • As for everyone: sessions between computers on the same network cost nothing
  • 30-day free trial of Teams, with no card

What it costs, worked out

ComputersSumPer year
3Billed as the 5-computer minimum: 5 × $24$120
1010 × $24$240
6060 × $24 × 0.8$1,152
250250 × $24 × 0.7$4,200

The discount applies to every computer once the company reaches 50 or 200, not only to the ones above that line.

Paying by invoice

A company that needs to pay against an invoice, with a purchase order number and its VAT number, asks for one on the console's Billing page, or at info@joyremote.com. A person sends the invoice within two business days, payable in 30 days.

During the year

The bill follows the computers. One enrolled in month three is added for the nine months left; one removed is credited the same way. The company is never billed for fewer than five.

A company's viewers are covered too: their calls to company computers are not counted against the 1.5 free hours a computer of their own would have.

When the trial ends without a subscription, or a subscription ends, the company's computers go back to the rules every computer has: free on its own network, and 1.5 free hours over the internet before $5 settles that computer. The company's list of viewers keeps working. If a card payment fails, the computers stay covered while Paddle tries again.

What Teams does today

  • A company console at dir.joyremote.com/console. You sign in with a link sent to your e-mail. There is no password.
  • Enrolment with a token. The console makes a token, and each computer is installed or told to join with it.
  • One list of company viewers. A viewer on the list connects to every enrolled computer without anybody at the keyboard being asked.
  • The person at the keyboard keeps the last word. They can still block a viewer, and they still see the blue circle while somebody is connected.
  • A fleet list. Each computer's operating system, signed-in user, uptime, free disk space, whether a restart is pending, and whether it is online.
  • A central log of connections, approvals and file transfers, kept for 90 days and exportable as CSV.
  • The phone and browser page can be switched off on the company's computers. That page is plain HTTP on the local network, and a company may not want it at all.

How far the company's say reaches

A computer nobody enrolled is unchanged, and the directory cannot let anyone into it. An enrolled computer accepts the company's list of viewers, signed by the directory's key. The people who decide that list sign in to the console. More on the trust page.

What it does not do yet

These are not in Teams today. If one of them decides it for you, it is better to know now than after the trial.

  • Single sign-on (SSO or SAML).
  • Permissions beyond the two roles there are, owner and admin.
  • Session recording.
  • Running scripts or updates on many computers at once.
  • MSI or MDM packages.
  • SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification. We have not been audited.
  • A contractual SLA.

How to start

Open the console and start a company. Sign in with your e-mail address, make an enrolment token, and install JoyRemote on each computer with it.

On Windows, silently:

JoyRemote-Setup-1.6.1.exe /S /ORG=<token>

On Ubuntu or Fedora, after installing the package:

sudo joyremote --enrol <token>

On a Mac:

joyremote --enrol <token>

Then add the company's viewers in the console. Each enrolled computer picks up the list within about two minutes.

Without Teams

Nothing changes for a computer that is not in a company. It is free on its own network, and over the internet it pays $5 once, which settles that computer for as long as we run the service. See Pricing.

Prices in US dollars. Tax is added at checkout where your country requires it. See the trust page, the data processing agreement, the refund and cancellation policy and the license agreement.
